The Canadian Association of Chain Drug Stores

Governance

Board of Directors

CACDS is governed by a Board of Directors, which guides association activities. Representatives of pharmacy chains, including supermarkets and mass merchandisers with pharmacies, constitute the CACDS Board of Directors.

Council of Representatives

The CACDS Council of Representatives comprises a senior executive from each retail company that is a member of CACDS. The role of the Council of Representatives is to provide advice to the Board, inform the strategic planning process and oversee Board governance activity.

Associate Member Advisory Board

The CACDS Associate Member Advisory Board's mandate is to assist the Board of Directors in identifying supply chain issues that will lead to greater efficiencies and productivity within the chain pharmacy industry, and to increase the relevance of the organization for all of its members.

The Advisory Board develops programs and services that improve supplier/retailer relations and operations. As well, it also helps to increase the annual retention rate of associate members, and encourage participation in association activities and serving on committees. The Associate Member Advisory Board is divided into two sub-groups: the Pharmaceutical Group and the Consumer Products Group.
